About the Amherst Railway Society
The Amherst Railway Society sponsors the Northeast Railroad Prototype Modelers Meet. The society exists to give as many people as possible the opportunity to experience and learn from the railroad and model railroad hobbies. We believe that enthusiasm for railroads and model railroads makes a positive difference in people’s lives. This fundamental belief motivates us, guides us.
Model Room
The heart of every prototype meet is the model room. We welcome all models. There is no judging, either formally or informally.
The model room turns into the social hub of the meet as people pull up chairs to discuss and photograph models. It’s a place to learn, to ask questions and share techniques.
White Elephant Tables
One of the most popular features of the meet is our white elephant table. You are welcome to bring up to 10 items you’d like to sell.
This is a bonus we offer to those who attend the meet without charge. You get 100 percent of the sale price. Check in with our white elephant table coordinator, who will record what you are selling. Please refer to our white elephant table rules. (link to the rules)

NERPM features more than two dozen clinics focused on a variety of model railroading topics – weathering, prototype information, layout overviews, techniques and specific pieces of equipment.
We welcome presentations from everyone. That model you’ve been working on, or project you’ve been researching, could very well be a great clinic. Please contact Dave Owens at neprotomeet@gmail.com about presenting.

Each day of the meet ends with a raffle of items donated by a variety of incredibly generous manufacturers, retailers and people who attend the meet.
The array of items is available for inspection during the day. You drop your tickets in a bag next to the item or items you’d like to win. Tickets are available near the raffle table. Proceeds from the raffle help cover meet expenses.
Exhibitors
We have a variety of select vendors at the meet each year who offer items we believe are of most use and interest to modelers.
Past exhibitors have included Funaro & Camerlengo, Bob’s Photo, Ron’s Books, 3-D Central, Rapido Trains, White Rose Hobbies, Speedwitch Media, Yarmouth Model Works, BEST Trains and several historical societies. Check back often as our list continues to grow.
